1. Please tell us a few words about the new release, about the music on it as a whole or a few words on each track in part. How are you happy with the final release?
-The new release is the debut ep album of Leave the Circus.
The music alongside with the lyrics is a whole part, which regards our concerns about the modern society we live into. It’s a loud message to the crowd, to start acting, and not following orders like sheep.. It’s kind of revolutionary in a way, and we like it! It disseminates passion and energy. Exactly what metal music is made for. We are extremely happy with what we have done in this ep cd.
2. How would you describe/label the music on it? Does it sounds like anything we might have heard before?
– The truth is that what you are going to listen is something very interesting. We have gathered the best parts of the biggest metal scenes such as Scandinavian & American metal, and crafted something (at least) worth listening. The listener will find out soon, from the first track of the album.
3. Where was it recorded and how much time did it take you to record it? Any interesting stories from the recording/producing the material?
– We worked with some of the best to bring Mindless Mass to life.
The recordings took place at 9800 Studios in Athens, and lasted for about two months.
Afterwards, the mixing process took place at Unreal Studioz, also in Athens. One of the best studios available, with great experience, having worked with many notable bands and musicians.
Finally, we did the mastering at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. One of the top studios global, having worked with bands such as Amon Amarth, Kreator, Soilwork, Opeth, Paradise Lost, Enslaved, Katatonia Witchcraft, (and the list goes on)
4. What can you tell us about the cover artwork? Is there a link between the artwork and the lyrics? What are the topics of your lyrics?
-Surely there is connection between them. The destroyed shack on the artwork, alongside with the circus behind it, represents the modern society. Represents the all those bad things some out here want to “feed” us, and with the lyrics we are trying to make this clear, and make the “mindless mass” wake up, and take actions.
5. What do you expect to gain through this release? What are the band’s aims at the moment?
– We are willing to make the band’s name as big as possible, and in addition to spread our music as far as it can get.
We will achieve this through many live upcoming shows, and of course with a strong presence in internet and Social media. You will hear more from us soon!
6. Is there a special format the material is released in? Or is it released in multiple formats? How many copies were pressed?
– This release will be distributed in digital format only, and later, (this year probably), we will cut physical copies. But for now, it is in digital format only.
7. Where and how will you promote this new release?
– We will promote it global through internet and social media. Also, we expect our fans to come to our live shows, and listen to our music, to the core! They will not regret this.

– Tell us about the origin of the band.
The band was created by me (Pete Tross) in late 2013, alongside with the rest members of the current roster. It was a thought I always had in my mind, and finally that year it became truth.
– Reasons to create the band, inspiration and influences.
There were thoughts of creating a new band in Greece, that could deliver a mix of American and Swedish Metal to the people. So, that time came with the creation of Leave the Circus.
– Style description and musical attitude.
The band’s sound varies within melodic, death and new alternative metal.
The combination of heavy guitar riffs and melodies, alongside with the aggressive and, in some parts, melodic clean vocals, make the music of Leave the Circus take a totally different music path.
– Tell us about the origin of the name’s band.
“LEAVE THE CIRCUS” is mostly an encouragement to all the people to become different. To leave the ways that modern society (the “circus”) makes us live, and become independent human beings. Each person has something very special to give, and it is such a great loss for everyone if all of us just become part of a brainless mass.
-For those who are starting rocking
Which band and / or classic rock band’s song recommend and why?
Surely with some classic stuff. Maybe some Black Sabbath, Lez Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, and of course Iron Maiden and Metallica.
Afterwards, there are so many modern bands someone can listen to, and learn that can’t be mentioned. But sure thing is, if someone has to start from somewhere, and keep going, classics is definitely a big school.

What song of yours you recommend and why?
haha, nice one! Well, I don’t really know. I like all our songs, so I am not the most Objective person that could talk about that.
Maybe check “Eradicate the Terror”. It is a very powerful song, with lots of melodic but also heavy parts.
-Which one was or has been the most important moment in your career?
Many moments worth being mentioned, really!
But some of the best (emotionally mostly), were winning the Greek Battle of the Bands (with my previous band), and playing in Schoolwave festival, in front of thousands of really crazy people!
-Tell us about your achievements, future goals and what are you doing right now?
So far, we have released our ep Album “Mindless Mass” which received a lot of positive commentary and was a very good start for us, and played a couple of lives in Greece. We have scheduled some more lives in October (and maybe November), and afterwards we start working on a new full length Album.
-As wrestling media, do you know wrestling, right?, What do you want to comment or add about this topic?
Of course we know wrestling!
Wrestling was always bonded strongly with rock and metal music. This is because both are very powerful and give people madness! We watch wrestling matches and we love all these crazy stuff those people do! This is so enjoying (and even more, if you listen to all those really kickass intros)!

You founded LEAVE THE CIRCUS at the end of 2013 and at once band recorded debut EP “Mindless Mass”. How you could do it so fast? Did you had already experience to play metal-music, isn’t? In what bands did you play before starting LEAVE THE CIRCUS?
Yes, that is surely one of our little hints there. All of us have great experience in the heavy metal scene, considering recording and also performing live on stage. So, we knew exactly what to do, and when was the time to do it. Without losing time then, we recorded the ep, signed with our label, and presented it live to the crowd.
To whom did you send your material, how was the response on it? How did you manage to get a deal with Another Side Records?
We sent our material to various labels, and the responses we got were generally good. The reason we sealed a deal with Metal Scrap Records & Another Side Records was because the people there seemed to really like our stuff and we had a very good prospect of promoting it together to many people out there.
How would you define LEAVE THE CIRCUS’s sound, what makes it different? What are your main musical influences?
The band’s sound varies within melodic, death and new alternative metal.

Bands that have similar sounds as ours are Stone Sour, Hellyeah, Shadows Fall, In Flames, Trivium, Machine head and many others..
In LEAVE THE CIRCUS’s stuff I found elements and old school music, and modern sound. Do you sympathize more with the old-school attitude or do you like the new style?
We like them both! All the members of LEAVE THE CIRCUS, have different “favorites” in metal music, and this is something great for us, Just because we can combine all these elements and make a very nice mixture out of it, that anyone worth listening.
You will in short time begin to receive reviews and diverse expressed response. What do you expect from the reviews?
We are very confident about our music. We have put so much effort in it, and we made it with much passion and love. So, i think all this comes out to the people who have already listened to our stuff, or, are about to listen to it, and they will certainly recognize all this, and love it. Of course there are
What can we expect from LEAVE THE CIRCUS in the near future? When there will be long-play album?
We have already presented live our ep album “Mindless Mass” in Athens, Greece, and we are considering to book some dates in other Greek cities in the near future.
After that, we will start working on new material, and setting up the full length album.

– We started in 2013, and our original members are the existing.
Pete Tross on guitars and vocals, Vagelis Kolios on Vocals, Anthony Kontozoglou on drums and Nick Pan on bass.
We recorded our debut ep “Mindless Mass” at 9800 studios Athens, Mixed it at one of the most notable studios in Greece, Unreal Studioz, and the mastering took place at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. 2. How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
– We have successfully combined some of the best metal scenes worldwide, and made what you are about to listen.
Many bands have influenced us, but the good part in all this, is that all the members have different “favorites” in metal. So, we have crafted a solid blend out of it, capable to excite anyone who listens to it.
3. Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?
– Because he/ she is going to listen to some pretty new stuff, able to blow their mind.
4. What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
– This is our debut work published to the crowd. But we are very confident that people would love it!
5. Do you play live as well? How’s your live activity so far?
– Alongside with the release of the album in 4 Oct. 2014 in Europe and worldwide, and 2. Dec at North and South America, we have planned some live shows in Greece, that will take place in the forthcoming months.
6. What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
– We have worked really hard to make something worth listening and, completely no offence to any other band, something you have not listened again and again. We are also trying every day to improve our status as a band, in order to someday reach as high as it goes.
7. What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
– For now, we are about to spread our music through internet worldwide, and also with live shows all along Greece.
Afterwards, we have already started planning the recordings of our Full Length album. But first things first. When we are done with the promotion of Mindless mass and Leave the Circus in general, we can see how it went, and define our next moves.
