Can anyone suggest a professional grade equalizer that takes out and banishes the retarded synthesizer from ‘metal’ albums?
One second the sound of glorious brutal death metal is pouring out of the speakers at Metallian Towers and the next dan dadan dadan daaaaan it is a band yielding to trendy synthesized commercialism and going trendy exposing its weak underbelly via keyboards. It is like a cold shower when one least expects or needs it. That is Ades Numen. This is a band with vigorous fast parts and pounding heavy riffs that rivals the best of Vader only to spray the hapless listener with a lame keyboard sound and a false operative tenor. It is static to a radio broadcast, a fart into the microphone at a concert, the sound of breaking dishes and swearing at a fine restaurant and a jet aeroplane roaring overhead whilst a relaxation spa.
The trio’s photograph depicts a band that looks ferocious, serious and committed, but then comes the “symphonic” description and all credibility is lost. It is especially painful because the band’s songs are so brutally good. Medusa, Sin Son and other tracks crush with talent and power. Will the band let this stand? No.

Ades Numen are a band from Italy that plays a symphonic mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "War" which was released by Another Side Records.
A very dark sounding intro starts off the album which also introduces symphonic elements onto the recording which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the music. The riffs also use a great amount of melody along with the vocals also adding in a great amount of death metal growls.
All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while the faster sections of the songs also use a great amount of blast beats, Elements of black metal can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
The faster riffs also add in a decent amount of tremolo picking and as the album progresses a brief use of grim black metal vocals can also be heard and on track also adds in a small amount of operatic elements and spoken word parts. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover war, darkness and mythological themes.
In my opinion Ades Numen are a very great sounding symphonic mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "War" "Breath Of Phobetor" "Medusa" and "Ades Numen". 8 out of 10,

OCCULTBLACKMETAL (http://darkdoomgrinddeath.blogspot.com)

From Northern Italy comes Ades Numen, a trio of former Cruenta Lacrymis members without Elena Crivellaro, the singer, and that seemingly continues the same Symphonic Extreme Metal path which can only lead to the thought that Elena was the reason or at least part of the reason they started playing under this new moniker. This is their debut full-length album, a 10 tracks effort clocking a bit over 40 minutes of playing time of mid-tempo to (mostly) fast paced Symphonic Black Death Metal that personally it constantly reminded me of Game of Thrones for some reason, of the different brutal wars that took place most of the time in the award-winning series. The instrumental part is very good, technical, varied, expressive and well structured in order to offer the listener a complete experience, a heavy and dark atmosphere. Unfortunately I feel the vocals are not up to par with the instrumental part; although I have nothing to complain about the tone (very grave, commending, perfect for Metal, and I'm sure the guy is a beast live), their lack of variation leads to monotony, and the fact they are mixed so in front of everything only adds to the dullness from my point of view. As an example the track Revenge Doll has some varied vocals parts and probably that's why I find it the best on this album, but it's not enough for me to enjoy the whole album in full; a couple of tracks and then I loose interest... Try it yourselves though.

ADES NUMEN was founded in 2017 in Padua, a city in northern Italy with a long and rich history. At the university there once studied, among others my great countryman Nicolaus Copernicus.
The band, apart from this album, has only released a two-track single in a digital version. The band was formed by former members of CRUENTA LACRYMIS, existing in the years 2012-2017. The musicians of ADES NUMEN also have connections with the groups as NECROPHY, OVERRAIN, ENDAYMYONIN, II DAWN. So they are people experienced in their artistic profession, which can be heard on the album.
The content of “War” is powerful, symphonic black / death metal. The instrumentalists are very good, but the main guitarist and drummer stand out more. The drummer adds more force to the music. Only the singer can sing in too little varied way. The music is aggressive and technical, with a bit of melody. Aggression reaches the degree of extreme black-metal in some songs. In other parts of the album it is calmer, in a mood of pessimism and despair. The song “Revenge Doll” can be included in the trend of decadence, which is emphasized by references to the style of the artistic song from a cabaret. Interesting keyboard and orchestral motifs are constantly heard in the background.
The compositions from the album differ in style, mood. This is not monotonous brutality. A lot is happening in individual tracks. We have there short decelerations, climatic inserts, the using of choirs, strings, changing the speed of the music, diversifying the rhythms and melodies. The album is begin by an ingenious climate intro, and the last song ends like a slow-down, fading disc.
The Italians also thought about the interesting start and end of their work. ADES NUMEN “War” is a very good proposition from Italy.
