Soilgrinder Zine #7

Straight away into the chunky death metal with some Cannibal Corpse type blast beats. As this album progresses, it is clear that these guys are super talented, top players. I was going to say how much they sounded like Cannibal Corpse until they shifted gears and went all Anal Blast, and I mean A,B, with Jordinson on the drums. Damn, this is a pleasant surprise, groovy double bass work and half-blasts. My initial look at a busy cover and so-so name with a indecipherable Celtic-type logo, gave my usual opinion of Hmmmm. Well, they got they re revenge. Heh, fuck me is right. This rules.

 

Metal Centre

Described band was established in 2015 in the city known from the Jasna Gora Monastery. So far, this album is the only release of the inhabitants of Czestochowa. The drummer of TRANQUILIZER 247 previously played in a little known DEMONIC MINDS performing thrash / heavy metal.
“Ten” is filled with brutal, technical death metal, not exceeding the boundaries of the genre, but played originally. All instrumentalists are highly skilled, especially guitarists. The singer is also very good, he uses a whole range of death-metal vocals.
The compositions often combine aggression with a certain hitness and somewhat ludic rhythms. Sometimes I can even say that TRANQUILLIZER 247’s music is rocking. The pieces “Baal”, “Disk 0” and “Waltz”, due to their unusual rhythm and a certain element of psychedelia, remind me of GRUZJA’s works. However, the number “Pitbull” is for me PRIMUS in high gear. There are also extremely fast, grindcore-style fragments.
The lyrics are probably crazy, but difficult to fully understand due to the growling style of singing – even though some of them are in my language (Polish).
The music is very mature. It’s hard to believe that this is the band’s debut and not the result of long-term experience. But in the rehearsals, bloody work was certainly done.
I suppose the members of TRANQUILLIZER 247 are very familiar with different genres of music. They have their own idea of ​​creating sounds. A combination of brutality, technique, weirdness and otherworldliness. Death-metal / Grindcore for the intelligent.

Metallian

This Polish quintet’s debut album features cover art and liner notes that might be expected from their genre. Ten – the album title says as much – songs and 28 minutes might hint at the same. Revenge Of The Pork is the opening title. This says even more. The band is grinding with grunting vocals courtesy of Gulash. Dirty Marriage keeps going though a listener might expect more blasts from such a band. Instead the song and indeed the album as a whole are somewhat more controlled. Kristin is much the same and perhaps the quintet are more gore than grind. Crocodile is less than two minutes long and fits the mold well with Benighted and similar type grind. Anioły Zjadają Plon could be faster, though aggressive and heavy it is not as effective as it could be. Baal is almost double the length of the next longest song on Dziesięć. As such its pace is mostly different than the other nine songs. It is dominated by Gulash and a heavy rhythm. Dysk-O could use some pace too. The band seems to lose something here, even the heaviness. Walec regains the momentum somewhat. Friday is not a cover song! The album closes with Pitbull. The song is perhaps the craziest on the album. At just over two minutes it just goes crazy. Tranquillizer 247’s offering could be heavier and faster and be fully grinding but is nonetheless aggressive madness.

Если вы слышите, что кто-то играет дэз / грайнд, то что вы представите в первую очередь? Наверняка что-то Напалмоподобное. И это сработает в девяти случаях из десяти. Но есть еще один случай и именно он относится к нашей рецензии. TRANQUILLIZER 247 – это польский коллектив играющий дэз / грайнд, а рецензируем мы их дебютный альбом, кстати, выпущенный в дигипаках. И лейбл четко советует их музыку любителям Cannibal Corpse и Gutalax, т. е. наш грайнд соответствует скорее горграйнду и его неспешным среднетемповым перемалываниям личности. Десять треков вдохновлены реальностью и утонули в парах алкоголя. Нас ждет жесткая вечеринка с наблюдением за болезнью окружающего мира. Около получаса отлично записанного материала могут заинтересовать многих поклонников больных звуков.

Underground review #4

Банда из далекой Чехии. Сами музыканты называют свой стиль дискограйнд. И это на 100% верно, поскольку диско замесы сквозят везде. Вокалист Гуляш выдает такие утробные рыки, что ему бы позавидовал сам Крис Барнс! Тотальное дискограйнд молотилово скажу я вам! Такого рода музыку надо слушать исключительно по утрам, чтобы проснуться и попутно разбудить соседей. Теперь касательно оформления диска. Диджибук с книжкой-постером. Все очень классно и качественно сделано.
P.S.: За 28 мин. звучания диска крыша напрочь слетает!

Die 2015 gegründeten Polen bezeichnen sich selbst als Grind-/Gore-/ Disco-Metal-Projekt. Gut, wenn wir das „Disco“ weglassen und dem Grind auch noch ein „-core“ anhängen, dann ist diese Selbstdefinition mehr als treffend. Da passen dann auch die Vergleiche zu Cannibal Corpse, Nuclear Vomit und Gutalax, lediglich die Annäherung zu Boney M. sollten wir geflissentlich ignorieren. Musikalisch dürfen wir selbstredend keine Drahtseilakte verlangen, die Stimme von Gulash kann genau nur Grunz und Scream, die Gitarren der Herren Gruby und Muzzler sind meist simpel schrubbend unterwegs, und das Schlagwerk eines gewissen Szancer hat dermaßen viel Trigger spendiert bekommen, dass man meint, eine neumodische Deathcore-Produktion vorliegen zu haben. Ironischerweise wissen TRANQUILLIZER 247 ihren Minimalismus durchaus gewinnbringend einzusetzen. Songs wie das Pig-Screamdominierte ‘Kristin‘, das in 120 Sekunden rausgeholzte ‘Crocodile‘ oder der wütende Schlussakkord ‘Pitbull‘ besitzen einiges an Charme und machen durchaus Laune. Über Albumdistanz gesehen ist „Dziesiec“ zwar okay, aber um im Konzert der Großen mitzuspielen, ist das Material dann auf Dauer doch zu eindimensional geraten.

Рады представить вам молодой польский дэтметалл коллектив. Сформировался он в 2015 году в городе Ченстохова. Пробиться на «большую» сцену им удалось относительно недавно, но есть что то цепляющее в этих ребятах – может быть, залихватские мелодии, а может, и драйвовая подача, несмотря на мрачную и меланхоличную лирику. Дебютная пластинка, вышедшая в октябре 2019 года, позволит поближе познакомиться с поляками, оценив их уровень и слаженность игры. Альбом доступен на лимитированном CD в диджипаке. Всего в релиз вошло десять треков. По стилистике это качественный дэт металл с примесями грайдкора и хэви. Полное время звучания всех материалов составляет двадцать восемь минут. Жестокость, агрессия и безграничная тоска запрятаны среди мощнейших риффов и леденящего душу вокала. Действительно, голос проникает в глубину вашего сердца, заставляя отбросить все дела и внимать тому, что хочет донести группа. В какой то степени это мистический релиз, рассказывающий вам не самые жизнерадостные истории. Отдельно хочется отметить разнообразие лирических героев и их чувств, но каждую песню музыканты проживают, как бы сливаясь с персонажами. «Это десять треков, пропитанных суровой реальностью и парами алкоголя» так сказано в официальном релизе пластинки. Да, возможно, музыканты позволили себе немного расслабиться, сочиняя мелодии, но этот релиз ты воспринимаешь всерьез, а всему, о чем поют музыканты, почему то веришь. Мистика, философские мысли и обыденная жизнь слились в одно целое в их рассказах. Они умеют быть убедительными, настойчивыми, а их харизма и энергетика чувствуется на протяжении сотни километров. Из наиболее ярких аранжировок данного релиза особенно хочется отметить «Сrocodile», «Dirty marriage» и «Friday». А вот тексты цепляют в композициях «Kristin» и «Pitbull». В конечном итоге мы имеем дебютный сборник отличной дэт металл команды новичков, которая спустя несколько лет сможет посоревно ваться с такими именитыми коллективами, как Cannibal corpse и Gutalax.
